Funeral of Member of Support Staff

I have received unconfirmed information that the Funeral of Yvonne Anderson a member of Police Support Staff will take place at 11.30am Saturday 8th September 2018 at Gedling Crematorium, Catfoot Lane, Lambley.

If you are thinking of attending be aware the the Nottingham stage of the Tour of Britian will be in the area of Woodborough, Lowdham, Lambley A614 and A60 about the same time so approach From Gedling or Arnold

Notification of the Death of a Retired Officer

Raymond Foster

 

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Raymond Foster, aged 92 years, who died on Wednesday 22 August 2018.

The funeral is at 12.20pm. Monday 17 August 2018 at Wilford Hill Crematorium.    The Undertakers are A W Lymn,  St Albon’s House, 32 High Street, Arnold. NG5 7DZ.

Donations to Thyroid Eye Disease via the Undertaker or at the Service.

Raymond joined the City Police in 1951 and served at Central, Vehicle Examiners.        He retired in 1976.    His wife died in 2004.

The venue for refreshments will be announced at the funeral.

Roy Chambers

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Roy Chambers, aged 80 years, a retired Police Officer.   He died on Wednesday 29 August 2018.

The funeral is at 10.30am on Monday 17 September 2018 at Redhill Cemetary followed by a private burial.

The undertakers are A W Lymn, St. Albion’s House, 32 High Street, Arnold. NG57 DZ

Roy joined the County Force first as a Cadet and then in 1959 joined the regulars.    He served at Mansfield, Epperstone, Bilsthorpe, Southwell and Newark.    He retired in 1984.

He also served in the Federation.

There will be refreshments after at the Vale Public House, Mansfield Road, Daybrook  NG5 3GG, all are welcome.

Velda Cross

 

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Velda Cross, aged 80 years, the wife of Keith Cross, a retired City Police Officer.    Velda died on Monday 20 August 2018.

The funeral is at 4.30pm. Monday 10 September at the Gedling Crematorium.    All are welcome.

The funeral directors are W A Lymn at The Old Far, Welbeck Road, Mansfield Woodhouse,  NG19 9JZ.

Velda was once employed as a civilian in the typist pool at Central Police Station.

YVONNE ANDERSON

I wondered if you could put a piece on the website concerning the recent death at home of Eleanor (Yvonne) Anderson. Yvonne was a Divisional Admin Co-Ordinator at Carlton Police Station. She worked there in the early 1990’s until her retirement.
Her funeral is on Saturday 8th September at Gedling crematorium at 11.30am. All her knew her are welcome to attend.

Rosemary MALARAK on 22 August at Bassetlaw Hospice. Her funeral is at 10:30am Tue 4 Sept at Ollerton Crematorium.

Rosemary was support staff at Worksop Admin in the 1980’s, 90’s and possibly in to the 00’s as a typist.

Death of a Police Widow

 

Jean Mankelow

 

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of

Jean Mankelow, 91 years, the widow of a retired Police Officer.

She died on Friday 3 August 2018.

 

The funeral is at 1.30pm Tuesday 11 September 2018 at

Bramcote Crematorium.       The Undertaker is Gillotts, The Old

Church, Main Street, Kimberley, Nottingham. NG16 2LL.

 

Jean was married to Frederick Mankelow who died in 1981.

Jean was a member Newthorpe Parish Council for a number

of years.   She was also a keen walker with the Broxtowe Ramblers.

In 1970 she walked the Pennine Way with this group.

 

 

 

70th Wedding Anniversary

 

Congratulations and best wishes to William and Millicent Brown

Who are celebrating their 70th Wedding Anniversary on Tuesday

18 September 2018.

Both served in World War 2 and William joined the City Police in

  1. He served at Central Division, Mechanised Division and both

the City and combined Force Control Rooms before retiring in 1976.
