Book of Condolence – Retired Police Officer -Alan James Walker

Whilst not a member of NARPO it is with sadness that I report the death of Retired Police Officer Alan James WALKER Ps1508 who sadly passed away this morning 6/5/2025 at his Mevagissey, Cornwall home after a long illness. He was 57yrs of age. 

Alan joined the Nottinghamshire Police in December 1987 and retired in December 2017. He served at Central, Beeston OSD(Dogs) and The Bridewell prior to his retirement. 

He leaves his wife Gaynor WALKER (Former Notts Policewoman Gaynor BEARDSLEY Pc2113), son Thomas and daughter Freya. 

There will not be any funeral details posted. Alan’s wishes are that he be dealt with by way of Direct Cremation and this will be arranged on a date suitable to family and the Undertakers who are BOURTON’s Funeral Services of 37/41 Truro Road, St. Austell, Cornwall PL25 5JE. 

Our thoughts and condolences are extended to the family at this very sad time.

  1. So sorry to hear about Al’s passing. I had the privilege of working with him at Beeston Police Station. Really great guy and all round copper. Always had your back and looked after very one.

  2. Sad news to hear of Alan’s passing. Our paths crossed at training school back in 1987 / 1988 and we bumped into each other over the following years. Condolences to his family. RIP.

  5. Very sad news indeed. Absolutely lovely bloke who was someone I looked up to and admired a great deal. He was always very generous with his time. I’m honoured to have counted him as a friend and colleague.
