Book of Condolence – Retired Officer – Terry Meade

It is with sadness that I report the sad death of Retired Police Constable 814 Terry MEADE (69yrs) who sadly passed away in the Nottingham City Hospital on the 20th January 2025 after a very short illness.

Terry joined the Nottinghamshire Police in April 1975 and retired in the rank of Constable in April 2005.Terry spent the most of his service at either Beeston or Hyson Green, but did have short periods at other locations.

He leaves his wife Marisol, daughter Hayley, son Anthony, and three grandchildren.

His funeral arrangements are as follows:

There will be a Cremation Service at Bramcote Crematorium, Coventry Lane, Bramcote, Nottingham at 1pm Friday 28th February 2025. The family would welcome friends and former colleagues to attend should they wish to pay their respects.

The Undertakers are The Cooperative Funeral Services of Stapleford, Nottingham. Daughter Hayley jokingly states this is near to the Wetherspoons Pub at which Terry spent most of his time.

Our thoughts and condolences are extended to the family at this very sad time.

  1. 9 to 814, What to say Tez. I wasn’t expecting that. Despite your atrocious spelling and handwriting, we made a good cop of you. A true one of a kind and someone I’d always do anything for, a lifelong friend. I hope they’ve got boats and spoons where you’re heading. Rest in peace Hollow Legs. Truely gutted. Wrighty.

    • Thanks Ron. We were always a bit irreverent with each other. Terry was unfortunate enough to have been assigned to me as his tutor constable in 1975, that time when you knew your shift mates had your back and you could give each other stick without someone crying to a gaffer over hurty words. Sadly days long gone.

  3. I have known Terry since I first went to Beeston in 1975 and also worked with him at Hyson Green (the old proper one) He was always a good mate who had a perpetual smile on his face and could take and give a ribbing it much as anybody. Because I hadn’t heard from him in the last couple of weeks I assumed that he had gone on one of his cruises. Unfortunately the long ship has now sailed and you will be missed.

  4. Sad to see the reported death of Terry. Although we never worked together our paths crossed on a number of occasions when we worked adjoining sub divisions. Always good for a laugh, but also full of knowledge about the job, a good lad.
