  1. Worked with Brian in the 60’s and saw him and Sylvia regularly after he retired. Brian certainly didn’t get a long enough, healthy retirement. Sylvia was a star of the County Bowling scene and I was fortunate enough to see her regularly at championships around the country. One of nature’s finest, lived life to the full. RIEP Sylvia. 2. Sylvia had been a member of the Burton Joyce Bridge Club for decades, our weekly tournament was, she said, the highlight of her week. She greeted everyone with her lovely warm smile and was loved by all.
She was a born competitor as her stellar bowling achievements have shown and that was carried on in our tournaments.
Sylvia played her last tournament with her regular partner Tom and passed away a few days later.
It has been a real privilege for me to have known this feisty lady.
