  1. I knew ‘Barney’ both at school and later at Canning, where he was an excellent LIO. A old school, straightforward, hard working and helpful chap. RIP Barney.

  3. Such sad news. Taken way too young. I feel privileged to have known him and worked with him. A good cop and a good guy. My thoughts are with his family. RIP Mark ( aka Barney )

  4. Sorry to hear of the passing of Mark (AKA Barney) shared many laughs with him at both Central and Canning with his dry sense of humour. Huge Forest fan who will be sadly missed.

  5. Sad to see Mark go so young. A well-liked character at CCPS in the 80s, known by all as Barney Rubble. Condolences to all family and friends.

  6. My sympathy to you all at this sad time. I remember Mark at work, at sport and as a friend in the village. He will be sadly missed by us all. Our only blessing is that he passed our way. Sometimes, words are not enough to express our thoughts and grief but “I hope you are now at peace my friend”.

  7. One of the very best people I worked and played with during my 30 years service (despite the fact he always ran me out when batting together at cricket). He was much respected in his role as LIO. I’m sure he will be missed by all who knew him. Our condolences to his family at this sad time. Unfortunately we are away at the other end of the country on April 4th but our thoughts will be there. RIP Barney.

  8. So sad to hear of Mark’s passing. Taken far too young.

My condolences to all his family and friends.

I joined with Mark back in 1980, and was on the same initial training course.
