Death of a Retired Officer – Arthur William Eagle

It is with regret that I have to inform you of the death of Arthur Eagle that occurred on 18th April 2022 after a long illness with Dementia.

Arthur collar number 979 joined the Combined Constabulary in 1970 and retired in 1998, serving at central and canning Circus.

The funeral for Authur is at 12.30pm. Tuesday 24 May 2022 at Bramcote Crematorium.  All are welcome. r

Family flowers only and donations to Alzheimer’s Charity at the service ot to the undertakers, A W Lymn, St James House, Portland Road, Hucknall  NG15 4LD

There will be refreshments after will be at the British Legion Club on  Beard all Street, Hucknall  NG15 7RA. .

  5. Worked with Arthur on my shift when I first joined at Canning. He was a lovely man and a real character. We had lots of laughs and leg pulling and he would put you straight when needed. Thank you Arthur and R.I.P. Condolences to his family.

  6. Arthur was a Canning Control Room operator when I first landed there in the early 80’s – Always had time for you and a genuinely nice guy. Often saw him after we had both retired in The Queens Head at Watnall and always made a point of passing the time of day. Thoughts are with Arthur’s family and friends at this difficult time

  9. Yes, all those comments fit well, lovely level headed and compassionate guy with a great dry sense of humour. And as outlined he was compassionate where necessary. He was on duty on the day I visited Canning in 1986 after being posted there and I recall he clear caring guidance as if it were yesterday,

  10. Sad to hear of Arthur’s passing. One of the characters in the Canning control room . Good at his job, whilst having a smile on his face and a great sense of humour. RIP Arthur.

  13. Fond memories of working at Canning Circus with Arthur in the control room. We shared a lot of laughs but he also had a serious side and passed on valuable experience. A great colleague and human being. Sincere condolences to his family. RIP my friend.

  14. I remember Arthur from the Control Room at Canning Circus when I arrived as probationer in 1980. He was a lovely bloke with a sharp sense of humour, and always helpful. My condolences to his family.
