  1. Such fond memories of working with Steve as a young Pc at Carlton In Lindrick. A completely smashing fella who never changed with deserved rank. It was a pleasure to have known you Steve. RIP – taken so shockingly early – thoughts with all the family.

  2. So sad. Such a woderful guy to work with. Steve did so much to promote inter agency working between the services in Worsop as Inspector. Thoughts and prayers are with his family at such a sad time.

  3. It’s hard when a Police brother is taken way to early, but even hard, when so young. Rest In Peace Steve we have all been blessed to have known you and served with you Sir.

  5. So sad to hear of Steve’s passing. What a lovely guy. I remember him from Retford as a young PC and then working for him when he was an Inspector- always the same cheery smile on his face. My thoughts go out to his family

  6. I worked with Steve on firearms ops and during the review of EMOPSS. I always found him to be pragmatic in his views and was great fun. You could never be in a meeting and catch his eye without smiling….or sniggering! A great sense of fun. My thoughts go out to Sally, their children and his wider family and friends. God bless x

  7. Steve was definitely one of the nice guys. He was a great cop and it was good to see that numerous promotions never changed him. His passing at such a young age is nothing short of tragic.

My thoughts are with Sally and Steve’s family & friends.

  9. So so sad. I remember being in a PSU van with Steve I think during the Euro 96 football tournament. Such a genuinely nice guy. Full of life, full of fun. That cheeky grin was so infectious! Again my thoughts are with Sally and family and hope all these lovely comments help you all get through this awful time.

  10. Shocked and very saddened to hear this news. We were probationers together on R3 at Worksop and later on the same PSU van for Euro 96. No one could help but like Steve. A wicked sense of humour and the way he carried out the job in his assured and quiet way was always to be admired.
My condolences to his family and friends.

  11. Very sad news. A great young recruit who turned in to a fine cop, at very level he worked at. I remember him in his initial Training, on Traffic , Op Median PSU and of course City Division.
Always smiling – taken far too soon
Thoughts to all his family .
    RIP Steve
