Notification of the death of a retired Police Officer
John Thomas Mellor
It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of John Thomas Mellor, aged 82 years, a retired Police Officer. John died on Friday 13 November 2020 at his home address.. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
John joined the County Police in 1958 and served at Mansfield, and Mansfield and Ollerton Traffic. He retired in 1985. His collar number was Pc 1153.

I knew John as a Friend and colleague what a gentleman he was also a friend of my parents before they both passed I shall miss him selling poppies in Morrison’s. RIP John x

I have known John for well over 50 yrs and first met him when he visited my mother’s wine shop in Mansfield for a cup of tea. John with others (who also had tea)
gave me encouragement to join the force. Well done John. He was also very helpful with advice once I had joined always ready to help.

Well John, we had some very memorable days and weekends away with the Force ToW team up and down the country, rest in peace with Mary. Will always remember with affection.

I knew John from my early days at Mansfield back in 1970. He was a a good colleague and very friendly with a good sense of humor. R.I.P John.
