Notification of the death of a retired Police Officer
Kevin O’Donnell
It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Kevin O’Donnell, aged 74 years, a retired Police Officer. Kevin was found by Police at his home address where he lived alone on Tuesday 13 October 2020. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
Kevin joined the Nottinghamshire Combined Force in 1969 and served mainly on the south side of the city, including St Annes and Wollaton.

Worked with Kev at Carlton, St Ann’s and Sneinton for some years one of life’s characters always a good laugh, but if you needed help would always be there. RIP Kev

I worked with Kev at Sneinton in the late 80’s. We had a great team back then and Kev was an integral part of it. I was young in service and I learned a lot about how to do the job from Kevin. He was short in stature but strong as an ox and extremely fit, running in several marathons whilst I was there. I am glad I had chance to get to know him and work alongside him. RIP Kev.

I was extremely saddened to read of Kev O’Donnell’s passing. We were on the same course at Pannal Ash DPTC, back in 1969, and he always had a dry sense of humour. Our last conversation was many years ago but I recall his very funny account of the perils of Panda car patrol in Broxtowe. May you Rest in Peace, Kev. God bless.

I was so sorry to learn of the passing of Kev “Corky” O’DONNELL – another one gone too soon.I had the priviledge of working with him at Sneinton & during the Miners Strike. He had very dry sense of humour and an intelligent under-rated Cop – a good man to have alongside you. R.I.P. mate

I’ve not seen Kev for many years but he left a lasting impression with his dry sense of humour. We worked together at Carlton in the 80’s and I can still remember listening to his stories. RIP Kev. Deepest condolences to all family and friends.

Deeply saddened to read of Kevs passing, worked with him at Sneinton, St Anns and PSU in miners strike. Solid as a rock and totally reliable to have your back in a crisis. Infact i had the privelage of holding his coat whilst he dealt with a public order matter on Sneinton Dale one night. Instructional and informative to say the least. Held in esteem by all who worked with him. RIP Kev. (Corky)

Sad to hear of Kev’s passing. Worked with him at Beeston where we was known to us youngsters as Corky. What a character with some great tales. Top bloke. Saw him a few years ago still pounding the streets. Thoughts with family and friends. RIP Kev.

I worked with Kev at St Anns, including a year in a van during the NUM dispute and later at Beeston. A much underrated officer who was good to have at your side when the going got tough. He was also a good and loyal friend who was taken far too soon and I shall miss our regular discussions about steam engines and of course, putting the world to rights.

Sad to hear about this ,Kev was one of life’s characters and was second to none as a Copper, your back was always safe when Kev was there, rest in peace mate you were one of the best!
