Scott Bonser

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Scott Bonser, aged 56 years, a retired Police Officer.   He died on Friday 18 December 2020.   Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

Scott joined Nottinghamshire Police in 1980 as a Cadet.  On being appointed as a Constable he served at Beeston, Bilborough and Bestwood. He retired in 2008.    He was a keen footballer and played for the Notts Police.

The funeral is as yet to be arranged.

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Michael Paul Cheetham, aged 69 years, a retired Police Officer.  Michael died on Wednesday 23 December 2020.  Our thoughts are with Amanda and the family at this difficult time.

Michael joined the Nottinghamshire Combined Force in 1973 and served at many Stations, including Canning Circus, Bulwell, Central, Sutton Bonnington and West Bridgford.    He retired in 2003.

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Alan George Ping, aged 83 years, a retired Police Officer.   Alan died on Friday 18 December 2020.    Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

There are restrictions on the number of mourners attending the funeral please place your comments below.

Alan joined the City Force in 1957 and began his service at Central.   He later transferred to the Traffic Department where he patrolled in cars and motor cycles.    He also was part of the Motorway Section.   On promotion to Sergeant he he went to Central and Canning Circus from where he retired in 1988.

Alan’s funeral will take place on Thursday 14th January at 13.30 at Bramcote Crematorium. Due to the latest restrictions the family have asked that only the nearest relations to Alan attend.

Eunice Mary Taylor

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Eunice Mary Taylor, aged 83 years, the widow of a retired Police Officer.    Eunice died on Thursday 26 November 2020.  Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

The funeral is at 1.00pm. Wednesday 16 December at Mansfield Crematorium.    The number of mourners is limited to 15. 

Eunice was the widow of Thomas Taylor who died earlier this year.    Tom joined the County Force in 1949 and served at West Bridgford, Sutton in Ashfield and Mansfield.  He retired in 1979.

John James Willis Marriott

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of John James Willis Marriott, aged 74 years, a retired Police Officer.  John died on Monday 30 November 2020.   Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

The funeral is at 11.15am Wednesday 23 December 2020 at Mansfield Crematorium but the numbers attending is limited.   

John joined the County Police in 1966 and served at Newark, Kirkby in Ashfield, Selston, Newstead, Mansfield and completed his career at Bulwell.  He retired in 1981.

Notification of the death of a Police Widow

Alma Dickinson

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Alma Dickinson, aged 94 years of age, the widow of John Dickinson, a retired Police Officer.   Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

The funeral is at 3.15pm Tuesday 15 December 2020 at Mansfield Crematorium.   It is limited to 30 mourners.

Alma was the widow of John Arthur Dickinson who joined the County Force in 1947.   He served at Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Oldcotes, and Shirehall.  He used to organise the Chief Constables Dance at the Sherwood Rooms.  He retired in 1978.  He died in 2005.

Albert Walker 88yrs died 1.12.20

He was Driver/Handyman at Canning Circus and Central for many years.

Also a good mechanic, often did work on Police Officers cars.

Due to a problem with a member of the family the funeral date has been changed to:
Thursday 24th December 2020 Wilford Hill, West Chapel at 0930.

Barrie Yates

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Barrie Yates, aged 89 years, a retired Police Officer.    Barrie died on Saturday 21 November 2020.    Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

Barrie joined the County Force in 1951 and began his career at Eastwood.     He also served at Headquarters, Crime Prevent and other stations and departments.  He retired in 1982 as a Chief Inspector.
