Just to introduce myself I am a retired Police Officer and NARPO plus IPA member having previously served in Warwickshire Police. Since retiring I have worked in the Drug & Alcohol Testing business. I work for Randox Testing Services as the Collection Service Manager covering the UK, Europe.
We currently use on a casual basis many retired Police Officers to carry out drugs and alcohol tests on individuals in the workplace an due to my background I actively seek Police Officers for the role. Retired officers are ideally suited to this role due to the nature of their previous service and background. As I said, this is on a casual basis and is very flexible, workloads do vary according to the area. Full training and equipment is provided.
The reason for my email is that I am currently seeking one person in the Nottingham area for an immediate start and wondered whether you could assist either by directly putting me in touch with someone or with advertising such a post through your local branch website or other social media platforms or any other means of contact with your members.
I would be quite happy to supply the wording for any such advert or any interested parties could get in touch with me direct on my email address ian.tew@randox.com

POLICE CARE UK
We may have already been in communication, but by way of introduction, I am the Engagement Officer for Police Care UK.
As you may be aware, Police Care UK is itself a regeneration of The Police Dependants Trust, and I would highlight that it operates to assist both serving and retired police officers or police staff, (or their immediate families) across all UK police forces. It provides emotional, practical, and financial assistance to individuals within the police family who have been harmed as a result of policing, and are in crisis. It is an entirely independent organisation, and we do not share any personal information with anyone.
We are supported in our work and assisted greatly by our fantastic volunteers;
- Champions; Who would advise others that Police Care UK exist, and what we do.
- Ambassadors; Who would be a point of contact for others, and perhaps attend meetings or conferences to represent Police Care UK.
- Support Volunteers; Who would typically assist potential beneficiaries who have requested assistance on behalf of Police Care UK, and are in need.
More information about these roles can be found here; https://www.policecare.org.uk/get-involved/volunteer/roles/
You may also be aware that we are recruiting volunteers at the moment across the UK, and some of your members may have already registered for one of the introduction days, which is great. There are places left on most of these events, and It would be great if you could use your channels to make your members aware of this opportunity. I’ve attached a couple of adverts for you, which should assist.
More details, and the registration form can be found here;
https://www.policecare.org.uk/get-involved/volunteer/
Please feel free to give me a call, if you want to know more.
Regards,
Dave Blundell
