SHEILA ANDREA ARMSTRONG

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Sheila Andrea ARMSTRONG, aged 50 years, who died on 13 August 2017.

The funeral is at 11.45am Friday 1 September 2017 at Mansfield Crematorium.  The Undertaker is A. Wass, 50 Station Road, Kirkby in Ashfield. NG17 7AS.   If you wish to send flowers, please Send them to the Undertaker or to the Service.

Sheila was married to Keith ARMSTRONG, who joined the Combined Force and served at Sutton in Ashfield in uniform and CID and later at the Major Crime Unit.

SARAH VANESSA BAINBRIDGE

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Sarah Vanessa BAINBRIDGE, aged 67 years, who died on 12 August 2017. Sarah joined the Combined Force in 1970 and retired in 1990 on a medical.    Her husband Stanley BAINBRIDGE, also a retired Police Officer, died some time ago.

Sarah was stationed at Central, Mansfield, Southwell, and Canning Circus.

The funeral is at 3.40pm. on Thursday 31 August 2017 at the Grimsby Crematorium, Weelsby Avenue, Grimsby DN32 0BA.  The funeral Directors are J.Naylor, 5 Bigby Street, Brigg. DN20 8EJ.

BARBARA HILDA HISCOCK

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of  Barbara Hilda HISCOCK, 90 years of age, who died on 12 August  The funeral has already taken place.

Barbara was the wife of John Roger HISCOCK, who died ten years ago.    John joined the County Police and served at Bingham, Newark, Carlton and Traffic.

RUSSELL JOHN (BILL) HAMES

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death of Russell John HAMES, better known as Bill.  He was 67 years of age and died on 21 August 2017.

The funeral is at 2.45pm.on Friday 8 September 2017 at Bramcote Crematorium.  It is requested that those attending wear at least one item of bright clothing in keeping with Bills fashion??

Any donations to the Alzheimers Society at the Service or to the Undertaker, which is C.Terry Funeral Directors, High Street, Bulwell,  NG6 8NU.

Bill joined the City Police in 1969 and retired in 1996.    He served at Central Division both in uniform and CID, then Radford Road and Oxclose Lane Stations.   There will be refreshments after, venue to be arranged.

It is with regret that we have to inform the membership of the recent deaths of Russell (Bill) Hames and Sarah Bainbridge.

NARPO Annual dinner is to take place on Friday 8th December 2017 at Ramsdale Park Golf Club, the cost of tickets will be a previously set at £17.50p per head.

Those members who have attended previously have commented that they had an enjoyable night.

However a number have requested that we move from an evening event to an afternoon event. I am trying to gauge opinion to see if the members are in favour of this before making final arrangements.

Full details will be circulated to all members in the quarterly newsletter in early September after NARPO Conference, as not all members are on email.

CHRISTOPHER  ALTOFT

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death of Christopher ALTOFT, aged 67 years, who died on Thursday 10 August 2017.

Chris joined the Combined Constabulary in 1969 and served at Harworth, Worksop, Traffic Dept., Arnold, Mansfield and the Driving School.     He retired in 1994 due to ill health.

The funeral is at 11.00am on Tuesday 22 August 2017 at Mansfield Crematorium.   The undertakers are the Co-operative Funeralcare, 8 Sherwood Parade, Kirklington Road, Rainworth, NG21 0JP.   Donations to Cancer Research via the Undertaker or at the Service.

There will be refreshments afterwards at the Ling Forest Inn, Eakring Road, Mansfield. NG18 3 ED

JAMES  SAMUEL  LOACH

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death of James Samuel LOACH, 84 years, who died on Monday 24 July 2017.     Our condolences go out to his wife Trudy and family.

The funeral is at 12.30pm. on Wednesday 23 August 2017 at Gedling Crematorium.      The undertakers are the Co-operative Funeralcare at 29 Plains Road, Mapperley.      A floral tribute will be sent on behalf of the members of NARPO and anyone wishing to send their own tribute are welcome to do so.    There will be refreshments afterwards at the Robin Hood Public House in Lambley, all are invited.

Jim joined the City Police in 1955 and served mainly on Southern Division and retired in 1980 after 25 years of service.

JOHN  ALISTAIR SMITH

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the death of John Alistair SMITH, aged 94 years, a retired Police Officer, who died on 29 July 2017.

He joined the City Police In 1950 and retired in 1976.   Central, Mechanised, Hyson Green, Courts Office at Shirehall, Beeston and West Bridgford.

The funeral is at 12nn on Friday 8 September 2017 at Wilford Hill Crematorium.

The Undertakers are the Co-operative Funeralcare, at Keyworth.  Family flowers only.

There will be refreshments afterwards at the Air Hostess Public House, on Stanstead Avenue, Tollerton  NG12 4EA.   All are welcome.
