Book of Condolence – Support Staff Member – Marjorie Toppine nee Bramley

Bill DUFFY has asked that I post the following for the attention of NARPO members. These are Bill’s words.

The content is as follows:-

I am looking for anyone who remembers Marjorie TOPPING late Marjorie BRAMLEY when she married Harvey (who died several years ago). Just before Christmas I went to visit her and took her a Christmas Card and some flowers. A neighbour called me over and informed me that Marjorie had fallen on a bus two weeks earlier when she was going to get her Covid jab. She did not survive the injuries caused by the fall and died very soon after. Her funeral is taking place on the afternoon of Tuesday 20th January at 3pm. If anyone has any memories of Marjorie that I can provide to the Celebrant can you please let me know by Direct Message or Whatsapp.

Neither the  neighbour nor I are aware of any relatives left by Marjorie or Harvey. (Message ends)

Marjorie was Divisional Secretary at Station Street in 1983 when Bill was promoted to Sergeant there. She was not a member of NARPO,

If anyone can help Bill with any such memories please contact Bill DUFFY by Direct Message or Whatsapp. Do not reply to NARPO or this email.

  1. Marge Topping became a shorthand typist at Beeston around 1968 from when I first knew her.Her office was part of the section office. Marge was a ‘Canny lass from Newcassel’ and a smashing person with an infectious sense of humour. She was extremely good at her job. She was also a WRNS reservist. Having been brought up in the North East myself I could have a conversation with her in ‘Geordie’ and we had many a laugh. I was so sorry to learn that she had passed. I have fond memories of her.
