Book of Condolence – Retired Officer – Rachel Louise Griffith

Members may already be aware from content on Social Media, but it is with sadness that I report the death of Retired Police Sergeant 2104 Rachel Louise GRIFFITH who passed away peacefully in hospital in the early hours of the 2nd December 2025. She was only 57yrs of age.

Rachel joined the Nottinghamshire Police in November 1990 and retired in November 2020. For those of you who don’t know her, she is the daughter of Retired Assistant Chief Constable Edward (Ted) GRIFFITH who sadly passed away in 2018. She is also the sister to retired Detective Constable Dave GRIFFITH Rachel served most of her service at Mansfield and its surrounding area until she was promoted to Sergeant and moved to Radford Road and subsequently back to Mansfield. She also carried out  tours of duty with the UN Peacekeeping Forces in Bosnia and Sierra Leone.

She leaves her mother Irene, brother David and sisters Sally and Amanda.

There are no known funeral arrangements as yet but having spoken to family it is hoped to have a funeral that will be attended by as many of her friends and former colleagues who are able to attend and to pay their respects. When these funeral details are known they will be posted to members.

The Undertakers are the Cooperative Funeral Services of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire

Our thoughts and condolences are extended to the family at this very sad time.

  2. One of the very best Sergeants I had the pleasure of working with and supervising. Always got the job done in her own unique way and style. Rest in peace Rach and don’t forget, when you reach those pearly gates, PUT YOUR TIE ON! 😉♥️

  3. I Worked with Rachel when we were both Custody Sergeants at Worksop. She often took over from me and I always found her helpful, bright, cheerful and professional with a wicked sense of humour. A lovely lady.
