It is with sadness that I report the death of retired Police Officer William (Bill) Harry WALKER Pc917 who sadly passed away at his Stapleford home on the 22nd November 2025 after a long illness. He was 78yrs.
Bill, as he was known joined the Police Service in September 1966 and retired in April 1996. On retirement from the service he went to work for the Nottinghamshire Coroners Office as a Coroners Officer. He served most of his time at Beeston and Stapleford and if I remember correctly spent some time in the Collators office at Beeston. (I’m sure Bob ABRAHALL will correct me if I am wrong.)
Bill leaves his wife Christine and sons Duncan and Alexander and their respective wives Kirsty and Kathrine.

Joined the Cadets with Bill in 1965. Our paths crossed many times during the following 30 odd years. Never a dull moment with Bill. Always happy.
Sad loss. Rest in peace, mate.
