It is with sadness that I report the death of Retired Police Officer Trevor William CROWN aged 82years who sadly passed away in a Northampton hospital on the 19th June 2025 after a long illness.
Trevor lived with his wife Joyce in their Northampton home. He leaves Joyce and two adult children, son Andrew and daughter Rachel.
Trevor joined the Nottingham City Police in May 1962 and retired in August 1992. He spent considerable time within Central Division. He had his office at Central where you would always be made welcome and using the words of Gordon DONALDSON “he was always on your side when a baddie needed remanding”. He was a true gentleman.
His funeral will take place at Gedling Crematorium, Catfoot Lane, Lambley, Nottingham at 11am Thursday 17th July 2025. Thereafter there will be a Celebration of his Life to be held at Woodborough Hall, Bank Hill, Woodborough, Nottingham.
The undertakers are C. TERRY Funeral Services of Bulwell, Nottingham
Joyce and family would welcome friends and former colleagues, and their respective partners to attend and pay their respects should they wish to do so.. However, Joyce would be grateful if those attending would let her know they are attending by email for catering purposes.
Her email address (ironically) is:- crown501@hotmail.co.uk
Joyce as further asked that should anyone with to make a charitable donation in lieu of flowers that both she and Trevor were supporters of UNICEF.
Our thoughts and condolences are extended to the family at this very sad time.

Trev Crown, very easy to describe, ‘one of the very best’. Had the pleasure of knowing ‘TC’ fromhis time as a Nottingham City Police Cadet in 1960. Fondly remember our time together asmembers of Sgt. George Scott’s, City Police Life Saving team that won the National Championships in 1966. As a colleague, he was solid as a rock and one of those very few menthat I can never remember anyone having a bad word for. ‘TC’ proud to have known you from your youth in Sneinton and to have called you a friend. Sincere condolences to Joyce and the family. Rest in eternal peace. Chris H. Smith (Former 515)

Trevor was a wonderful officer and a great man. To a young PC at Central he was the fountain of all knowledge. He would always help and always try to get the best court result possible. RIP Trevor. Sincere condolences to your family.
