Whilst NOT a member of NARPO, it is with sadness that I report the death of Retired Police Constable Michael MORRELL who sadly passed away in Haywood House Hospice on the 15th April 2025 following a very short illness. I believe his collar number was possibly 1473.
Mick as he was known served 36 years in the Police Service finally retiring probably around 2008. During his service he was awarded the British Empire Medal for services to Policing. His family, like Mick, were very proud of such an achievement.
Mick leaves his wife Julie, daughters Clare and Catherine and son James. He also leaves three Grandchildren, Evelyn, Zoe and Cora.
A Cremation Service will take place at Bramcote Crematorium, Coventry Lane , Bramcote, Nottingham at 1pm Wednesday 4th June 2025. The family would welcome friends and former colleagues to attend and pay their respects should they wish to do so.
Our thoughts and condolences are extended to the family at this very sad time.

Sad loss Mick, you were a great bloke and a pleasure to work with ,you had a good sense of humour and didn’t have a bad word to say about anyone.

I met Mick when I started at Canning Circus in the 1980s. He was a lovely bloke and an excellent Beat Officer. As we both lived in Beeston I gave him a few lifts to and from work when our shifts aligned. My condolences to his family at this sad time.
