Book of Condolence – Retired Officer – Granville Michael Deakin

It is with sadness that I report the death of Retired Police Constable Granville Michael DEAKIN. He was both Pc540 and 1340. He passed away on the 9th May 2025 in a Sheffield Care Home following a long illness. He had been suffering Vascular Dementia and PTSD. He was 90 years of age.

Michael as he was known joined the Police Service in April 1957 and retired on December 1979. He served at Carlton, Epperstone, Nottingham Traffic, Worksop Traffic, West Bridgford, Worksop and subsequently Retford from where he retired.

He leaves his wife Janet, also aged 90 yrs, son Andrew and Daughter Jane. He also leaves 4 Grandchildren, Georgia, Samantha, Peter and Jessica and 6 Great Grandchildren, Aria, Thomas, William, Heidi, Ralph and Max.

At this time there are no funeral arrangements made but these will be posted in due course.

Our thoughts and condolences are extended to the family at this very sad time.
