I have limited information at this time but I have to report the death of retired Police Constable 549 Derek CUTTELL who sadly passed away last week (exact date unknown) in hospital following a short illness. He was 85yrs old.
Derek joined the Police Service in July 1958 and retired in August 1988.
I have not yet been able to speak with family but will update members when I am able.
Our thoughts and condolences are extended to his family at this very sad time.

I had the pleasure of working with Derek for several years both at Bulwell and at Hucknall control room. A brilliant copper who influenced younger officers by his courteous and common sense approach. Will be missed by many

Worked with ‘Sticks’ at Bulwell in the 1970 and played football with him as well. He was a real gentleman, a sound copper and not a bad goalkeeper either. Rest in peace Derek.

So sad to hear the news of Derek’s passing. As a young Bobby at Bulwell Derek gave me alot of advice & guidance. He was a real gentleman with a wicked sense of humour. Enjoyed playing football too with “Sticks” for the Bulwell Sunday Team. I will always have fond memories of our time together at Bulwell in the late 70’s & early 80’s. R.I.P Buddy.
