It is with regret that I have to inform you of the death of the late Chief Inspector Peter Swinscoe MBE, 94 yrs, that occurred on 27th March 2025.
I have made initial contact with the family and the Funeral will take place at 2pm on 11th April 2025 at All Saints Church Babworth, Notts followed by a reception at Ye Olde Bell, Barnby Moor. Donation can be made to Dementia UK or Prostrate Cancer UK.
I am still awaiting further information from the family and as soon as this received I will update this email

Peter was my first DCI at Worksop when I went on CID in 1981. His advice in my early service shaped the rest of my career and for that I will be eternally grateful. A true gentleman RIP sir.

I would definitely have made the journey up to Notts for the funeral if I didn’t have other commitments. I admired Peter he was a gentleman and a first class detective. I have no doubt his wisdom and advice gave me the knowledge and ability to kick start my career. RIP
