BOOK OF CONDOLENCE – RETIRED OFFICER – JOHN KEITH CROSS

It is with sadness that I report the death of Retired Police Officer John Keith CROSS Ds685 who was 88yrs, who collapsed and died at his Farnsfield home on the 13th March 2025.

Keith joined the Nottingham City Police  in August 1956 and retired in the Rank of Sergeant in April 1982. He served at Central, Hyson Green, Russell Drive, the Regional Crime Squad and he was a founder member of the Drug Squad. He also became Crown Court Liaison Officer at the end of his service.

He was a widower, his wife Velda having passed away in 2018. He leaves son Steven, Daughter Liza, 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at Gedling Crematorium NG4 4QH at 3pm on Thursday 17th April 2025. It is requested that we have family flowers only with any donations to The British Heart Foundation that can be made through undertakers AW Lymn.

Attendees are invited to join the family for refreshments afterwards at The Lambley, Main Street Lambley NG4 4PN.

Our thoughts and condolences are extended to the family at this very sad time.

  1. A truly smashing bloke, who together with two other Sgts at Russell Drive police station in the late 70’s taught me much of the “stuff” I needed to know that got me through my probation and stood me in good stead for the rest of my service. may you rest in peace Keith..
