Book of Condolence – Retired Officer – Nigel Colin McCrery

This former officer is not a member of NARPO but I have been asked to inform members of the death of Nigel Colin McCRERY Ex Police Constable245.

Nigel served with the Nottinghamshire Police between October 1978 and retired medically in 1986. He had sustained injuries in the Hyson Green Flats disorder and did not recover from his injuries. He died on the 6th February 2025 in the Queens Medical Centre after a very short illness.

Following his Police Service Nigel had a very successful writing career. He was the creator of the television series Silent Witness and the New Tricks Drama. He was the author of some 30 books having attended Trinity College, Cambridge as a mature student despite having dyslexia.

Retired Police Sergeant Dick PARKIN has provided this information although similar information does appear on Social Media. Dick was a close friend of Nigel and he has provided his own mobile telephone number should former officers wish to get in touch with regards to Nigel. The number is 07906924440. Please do NOT contact NARPO.

If I am able, I will send funeral details if and when they are known should members wish to attend and pay their respects.

Our thoughts and condolences are extended to Nigel’s family at this very sad time.
