I first worked with John at TD(M) in 1970 and later at TD(O). He was a very reliable colleague endowed with a lot of common sense. You couldn’t help but like John and I am saddened by his passing. mick809

This is really sad news. John was my shift sergeant when I first joined Ollerton Traffic in late ’83, although I’d met him years before [in ’68] when he was a patrol officer on Mansfield Traffic and I a young cadet. A very down-to-earth person and someone whose experience and judgement was valued by all who worked alongside him. Last bumped into him in Mansfield a few years ago and enjoyed a chat about former times. May I pass on my sincere condolences to his family.
