It is with sadness that I report the death of Retired Police Officer John Moore Burton GOUGH 86yrs (Retired Pc715) who sadly passed away on the 4th May 2024 after a long illness. John joined the Police Service in October 1966 and retired in October 1992. He spent his initial service on the old South Division before moving to CID at Hyson Green, The Regional Crime Squad and subsequently Hucknall from where he retired.
He leaves his wife Patricia and children Lorna, Russell and Ian.
At this time there are no funeral arrangements but these will be posted in due course.
Our thoughts and condolences are extended to the family at this very sad time.

I worked with John at Hucknall and have many happy memories of those days spending as much time on competitions as anything else and laughter.
A proper gentleman with a wonderful sense of humour who I know will be much missed.
My thoughts are with Pat and family .
