I have been a close friend for 62 years, serving with him on Northern Division and as partners on the CID in the 60’s. He was one of the most genuine friends and collegues one could hope to have. We enjoyed several holidays together as a family and I shall miss him enormously.
Our hearts go out to Jan, Gareth and Jenny.
Rest in peace my dear friend.

Ken was a really nice chap. We were both DC’s on Central CID. He had a great pairing with Trevor Crown, me with Dave Coupland then Malcolm Whitt.
Conscientious, thoughtful and measured as a police officer.

Good early sixties service memories of Ken. An excellent colleague, setting a fine example to all of us younger officers. Later in service realised he was one of the finest examples of a true and trustworthy police officer, a very good friend to have.
A sad day for family and friends. One of the best.
Rest in Peace Taff.

As mentioned previously by Mick Farrell, Ken joined the few of us cadets/civilian clerks when the City Police recruited the first intake of the newly formed uniformed cadet corps under the command of Insp Holland and Sgt George Scott. Ken was a proud Welshman who was always there to help and assist and this formed the basis for his sound and fulfilling police career which ran in tandem with my own although out paths seldom met. My heartfelt condolences to his wife and family.

I was so saddened to hear of Ken’s passing and wish to pass on my condolences to his family. I had the pleasure of working with Ken when he was my DI on Central CID. I concur with other comments about his care for his colleagues which people never forget. A true gentleman. RIP Ken.
