It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Jean Hawley, aged 86 years, a retired Police Officer. Jean died on Monday 28 March 2022. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

Jean joined the County Force in 1955 and served at Worksop, Ollerton, Worksop C I D, Station Street, and Shirehall. She retired in 1985, Her collar number was Sergeant 45.

Jean was my first sergeant in 1974 at Worksop. Very good supervisor. I received excellent tuition which benefited me greatly for the rest of my thirty years service.

Got on very well with Jean when I was a Pc at Ollerton Section in1979/80. Jean was one of the 3 section Sergeants. Always a good laugh and all round nice person. RIP Jean

Jean was my first Sergeant at Canal Street in 1971. Allong with Pat Booth. Great to work with and learned loads. RIP Jean.
