  4. I first met Colin at Pannal Ash. He had been back-coursed with a slipped disc and was back-coursed again when it happened for a second time so he was there for 20 weeks. Our paths didn’t cross much after that but he was well-respected and a good bloke. RIP.

  5. Colin joined my shift as a rookie at TD(N) in 1979 and I remember him as being very keen and willing to learn how to be a traffic man. He made a positive impression on me and although I had not had contact with him for over 30 years I was saddened by his passing, as I still thought of him as a ‘youngster’ which, relatively speaking, he still was.
My sincere condolences to his wife and family.

  6. Colin and I joined the cadets at the same time I believe and we later both worked at TD(N) for some years. He was a fine gentleman and a good, reliable officer. We are both the same age at 66 years.

Whilst serving as a member of traffic he became a key member of the Accident Investigation by Mathematics Team providing high quality expert evidence and opinion.

I cannot think of any detriment or ill thought or feeling whatsoever when remembering Colin and the many years I had the pleasure of knowing him.

I am deeply, sincerely sad to hear of his loss. He was a good footballer, a good cop and a smashing man.

Sincere condolences to his family. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend his funeral service.

  8. I am very sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Col. We served together on Section 5 at Td(N).
I knew his dad and for a time in our early careers shared a ride to work, I have many good memories.
We were part of a solid team of firm friends on the shift, but as so often happens ‘on the job’ you move on and lose track.
    My condolences to the family.

  9. Very sad news. Remember great times at the wing and later in retirement when we met occasionally by chance in Arnold and the chippy on Rolleston Drive. RIP Colin.

  10. Colin was a thoroughly nice man. Served as a cadet with him. We were on the same initial course in Oct 74 when he was injured and back coursed twice! A dedicated professional! RIP Colin, my sincere condolences to your family.
