I was completely poll axed when I read about Rob’s passing. We were probationers together at Radford Road in the late 80’s. My first contact with Rob was when he was heading to the Magistrates with Phil Hyde, but Rob had lost his collar dogs, so asked to borrow mine. We went on to enjoy a fantastic early service with so many memories of amazing jobs our shift got involved in. He moved to Force Support and I moved to Nottingham Traffic. We eventually met up again on the same shift when the ARV’s moved to the Lodge. I spent many a shift with Rob reminiscing about our Raddy Road days and the job’s we’d been to. An absolute gentleman, one of life’s characters and taken far too early. Rest in Peace Rob, my life is all the richer for having had the privilege of knowing you. Condolences to your family.

Had the pleasure of knowing Pilko through work, rugby and socially through our love of bikes, BBQs and the odd bottle of red. He was a larger than life character and a big part of a tight group of mates which now has a huge gap in it, he will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Thanks for the many memories, all of them great.
Rest in Peace Pal

Deeply sorry to hear of this. Rob joined my shift at Radford Road from training school. He was a good copper and a smashing bloke. Genuine and straight. He could be on my shift anytime.
He made the right career choice and followed me to the best posting in the force on traffic.
Sincere condolences to the family.
