Maurice. Think of that terrible day everytime I pass through Ruddington. It will never go away.
Remember the days working with you at the Wing and the laughter and good times.
Big man with a big heart. RIP.
Great memories of Maurice at TD(N). He was always cheerful and a good man to have around. Sadly his life ended much too soon. Well done Paul for reminding us of this sad anniversary.
Thanks to Woody for reminding us of this tragic event. It is fitting Maurice should be remembered.
I met Maurice shortly before his death. Seemed a lovely chap and I was shocked to hear of his death.
Can’t believe that it was really 41 years ago, but
Cant’t believe that it was 41 years ao, but I have been retired now for 27 years . Where does the time go to?.
I knuw Maurice for all of his service .First class bloke. Always cheerful. Sadly missed.
A great friendly colleague with fantastic sense of humour. Pleasure to have been on same TD(N) shift with him. Had the very sad experience of passing his accident shortly after it happened and was very shocked and saddened at his demise. Will always remember the good days with Maurice. RIP.
I remember Maurice well from my traffic attachment at TD(N). Lovely guy, like most of the traffic lads he had a fabulous sense of humour undoubtedly borne out of their unique job experiences. I remember being incredibly shocked at the accident he had. It’s a wonderful compliment to him that he’s still remembered after all of these years. RIP Maurice.
RIP Maurice. Remember being on patrol on TD(N) when the report of the accident came in and subsequently attending the funeral with Thos Bowler. Maurice was well liked by all his colleagues, a sad time.
A dear friend, neighbour and colleague. We even shared an allotment. I well remember that dreadful day racing back from Central, grabbing my wife plus brandy bottle and rushing round to be with Chris.. When the Chief (Charlie Mac) visited later that day he shed a tear when he saw Maurice’s two little lads sitting to the table eating their tea through their tears. Shows everyone is human deep down.. We’ll never forget you Maurice. One of the best in a great bunch of lads. R.I.P. Thank you Woody. Roger Storey.
I will never forget that sad day. Maurice was first class & gave me some sound advice when I started on the Motorcycle Section. I will always remember his cheeky smile at the start/end of a shift (we were on opposite shifts). Never a dull moment when Maurice was around always a laugh.
Well done Paul for remembering Maurice in this way. I knew you were close. I will never forget him. Chris Akers
I will never forget you Maurice you were part of a great team of policemen. I was stationed at West Bridgford at the time of that sad, sad day. RIP. Dick Johnson

What a shock it was. Maurice was well known and liked, on Traffic but previously on Central. It was like losing one of the family.
