  1. Remembering happy days with the Rugby team whether it be at Murrayfield, Paris, Afon lido or Notts Casuals. Taff and Malcolm Gough formed and drove a rugby club to fun and success. County cups, National police finals, 3 counties cup finals all played to an accompaniment of loud Welsh ‘advice’ Many tales to tell but ‘what happens on tour stays on tour’.

    Rest in Peace Taff.

  4. Sincere condolences to the Evans family.
Taff was a great rugby enthusiast with a superb sense of humour. His unending and total support for the Notts Police team and the Welsh National side were truly admirable. A man to be proud of.

  5. I remember Taff with very fond memories right from when I was a 16 year old cadet through our appearance at Murryfield for the National Final and our victory over Mellish in the county cup final at Nottingham RFC. We even toured Wales together and played in Taffs home town, he was distraught that some of us had imbibed a few beers before the match because he wanted us to put on a good display, he needn’t have worried because been drunk made us forget the rotten weather. As a coach is he made us run up very steep hills and do burpees, but we loved it it and Taff loved his rugby and the club. He will be missed

  6. I worked with Taff for several years at St Anns and remember him as a loyal and dedicated officer with a tremendous sense of humour. I had no interest in Rugby but as Taf said ‘ I won’t hold that against you !’ He made going to work a pleasure and I will always remember him.
RIP my old mate and deepest condolences to his family

  8. I worked with Taff on the CID at Canning. Our team also consisted of Dick Raybould, Ginger Mick Roberts, and Paul Cottingham, as our Ds. We had a great time in the old days. Taff was as tough off the field as he was on. Lots of fond memories. Another good un gone.

  9. Taff and I were both founder members of the County Police Rugby Team and we played many times together and enjoyed many an evening afterwards. I knew and worked with him on and off throughout my service. As well as a good policeman he was great company and I had a high regard for him. He will be sadly missed.
