I once bought shares in a greyhound on Albert’s advice – it wasn’t until the Supt (tony causley) gave me another one of his ‘special’ rollickings having lost his fiver – did I realise it must have only had three legs! Albert was a very good and reliable man and we had some great laughs together. Always on hand to help anyone with absolutely anything at all – whether in his job description or not!
He was a big part of the team at Canning in the 80’s. Condolences to his family and rest in peace fella…….

Albert, one of life’s genuinely nice, decent people. A gentleman.
We first met at the Victoria Hotel when Albert, and Annie, did some part time work there while was the Banqueting Manager. After we got to know each other you offered to let me the lodge with you so I could escape the 24 hour demands of the hotel where I was ‘living in’ at that time. I think I stayed with you for about a year during which time I joined Notts. Police. I later moved out when I got married. You both made me very welcome, even taking me out with you at various times to meet your friends and family. So kind of you. Very happy days. Rest in peace Albert.

Albert was a Jack of all trades and a Master when it came to motor vehicle mechanics. He was always jovial and willing to help in any situation – he was a highly rated and valuable member of staff, in particular at Canning Circus. As I lived not far from him I used to see him regularly and he was always ready to have a friendly chat. He was a true gent.

Albert, top man, real gentleman, always good humoured and ready for a laugh. Albert was such a well-liked member of the Canning Circus family and was always willing to help anyone. Like a lot of people at Canning, Albert used to service my car and was there to help when something went wrong. If one of your colleagues “borrowed” some item of your police appointments Albert could often manage to requisition a spare to help you out. Condolences to his family and friends, he will be missed by all that knew him.
