Bill was a very helpful guy and in fact transported me to Pannal Ash for 10 weeks in the depths of winter 1956. He had a motorbike and sidecar and I used to chill out in the sidecar. We lost contact with each other when he moved to Traffic but I remember him as a great person who helped me in my early career.

  1. So sorry to hear that Bill was taken by this awful virus. I remember Bill with fondness. He was a friend and mentor in my early days on traffic. He taught me everything I needed to know about patrolling the M1 in the early seventies. My condolences to his family
