I worked with Detective Sergeant Joe McAleese at Central CID. He was a first class Detective well respected by his colleagues and the better known criminals.
He taught me such a lot during that period, an education I am so grateful to have received.
Rest in peace, my thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

I worked with Joe on the beat at Hucknall and later he was my partner in the CID at Hucknall.
Life was never dull being with Joe. We worked hard and played hard. He was well respected by all, both cops and crooks. No-one wanted to take Joe on. I was his senior in CID service, but I learnt so much about people and life from Joe. RIP old friend.
