  1. Alan. Sorry I only got to see you once at Clipstone. I did try again but was told it was not convenient. Then lockdown prevented any visits. I have some great memories of you at Newark and our evenings tug of war training and competing in competitions. Rest in peace.

  2. In 1967 I started my service at Newark. Long before the days of ‘tutors’ and I was placed under the wing of Alan (always known as ‘Dan’). He was a pleasure to work with and a source of knowledge drawn from experience. He was a real character and a very nice man. Well respected both within The Job and by the public. R.I.P. Dan. Thanks for everything.

  3. Remember Dan starting at Newark, his final posting, and worked alongside him. He was a regular at the ‘Rec Club’ where he spent time recalling his service and was always a pleasure to listen to. Lovely man.
