

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Michael James Page, aged 74, a retired Police Officer who died on Saturday 11 July 2020. Our thoughts are with his wife Maureen at this difficult time.

The funeral will be at 3.15pm Friday 24 July 2020 at Mansfield Crematorium. Due to the limited number that can attend you will be able to follow the service on www.obitus.com. You will be asked to sign in and the username is gowi2476 and the password is 532293.
The Masons are forming a guard of honour on Nottingham Road Mansfield at 3.00pm. outside of their Hall. You are welcome to join in but no one will be able to enter their grounds. The cortege will be stopping for a sort time for you to show your respect.
Mike joined the County Police in 1965 and served at Mansfield, Hyson Green, Central and a number of other departments. He retired in 1995.
He was awarded the British Empire Medal for his services to the Youth Justice at Hyson Green and Mansfield Attendance Centres

I remembered Mick from my Epperstone days in the 80’s.

Am so very sorry to learn of Mick’s passing. He was always so kind, friendly and helpful. He will be sorely missed. Beryl Crabtree also wishes to pass on her condolences and remembers Mick for all his help in raising money for the Howard Crabtree Scanner Appeal all those years ago. A real gentleman and one time member of England VI Blue Knights motorcycle club. A strange place to meet him on one occasion as he was coming into West Berlin as I was going into East Berlin via Checkpoint Charlie.

Rest in Peace Michael! I first met him when he was my Sgt at Hamilton house and Radford Rd Police Stations, He was a brilliant Sergeant, very knowledgeable and helpful, I got on very well with him. He was my Inspector General in the Rose Croix, and very well thought of, he went with me to London when the 30th degree was conferred to me. He was a Gentleman, and you will be sorely missed. Mick was a true legend, a mentor and role model to many including me. He was without doubt the person who had the most influence on my development and a true friend. My thoughts are with Maureen and family at this sad time. I have known Mick and Maureen since before they were married. Mick never changed over the years. Always there to help if he could. Mick was one of the people who encouraged me to join the force something I will always be thankful of. Rest in peace Mick.

I worked in the Recruiting Office at Epperstone Manor as a secretary when Mick was a Cadet in the early 1960’s & have lots of fond memories of those early years. I knew Maureen too before they were married. We have kept In touch on & off over the years along with my husband P.c 853 Dan Wallace. My heartfelt sympathies are with Maureen & families at this very sad time. Rest in peace Mick.

A lovely man who helped reassure my parents by going to visit them personally, that I was doing the right thing in joining the Police service.
Only then did I get the ‘seal‘ of approval from them .
He kept an ‘eye’ on me over the years as he promised my Mom + Dad he would.
I retired just over 18 months ago + have such fond memories of a great job + great people, Sgt Page/ Mick, was certainly one of those people.
