  3. On behalf of Nottinghamshire Constabulary Bowls Club and the Notts Police Bowls Section, can we offer our sincere condolences to Phil’s family at this sad time.
Phil supported both the Club and the Bowls Section for several years and he achieved reaching the National Police Championships, as well as playing for the English Police both Indoor & Outdoor.

  5. I worked with Phil at both Eastwood and Kimberley after leaving the Traffic Department in 1988. His ‘laid back’ approach hid an enquiring mind and a desire to see all matters to conclusion. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him and our subsequent ‘catch ups’ in Sainsburys at Kimberley, something I will miss as they always ended with us both laughing as we parted. I am saddened by this news and wish to extend my sympathies to his family on their dreadful loss. God Bless Phil.

  15. I had the great pleasure of working with Phil in the early eighties, as he showed me around the beat at Eastwood & Kimberley. Great guy who always had a cheeky grin on his face and would never let anything get him down. He was also responsible for some temporary weight gain on my behalf, as he would regularly take me along to the local Chip Shop on Larkfields Road at Nuthall.
Since we both retired, I would regularly bump into Phil in and around the Nuthall and Kimberley areas where we both lived, and would always stop for a chat and generally ‘chew the fat’.
God Bless Old Friend. May you Rest In Peace.

I bumped into him occasionally in Eastwood over the years since he retired & he always remembered me and we had a chat every time. Sad news. My condolences to the family.

  24. Joined with Phil in April 1975, and whilst at Training School travelled together each week-end up to Dishforth and back. Phil was always good company enjoyed a laugh and filled me in with some humorous tales from his time in the Army. Did not see much of him after we were posted back to Notts, but did have sometime catching up when we met. Sorry to hear of his passing, he was a great asset and a good guy to have on your side. My condolences to his family.
