Death of a Member

 

John Ignatius Turner

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of John Ignatius Turner, aged 77 years retired Police Officer, who died on Friday 9th March 2018.

He joined the County Police in 1959 and served at Arnold, Force Control Room, Traffic Department, Training Department, had 2 years secondment the Home Office, Carlton, and West Bridgford as a Custody Sergeant before retiring in 1993.   He leaves a wife Hilary and children.

The funeral is at the Church of the Good Shepperd, Thackerys Lane, Arnold, Nottingham. NG5 4HT at 1.00pm Tuesday 10 April 2018, followed by a private burial.

The Undertakers are A W Lymn, 32 High Street, Arnold. NG5 4HT.

Donations to the Diabetic Association and the British Heart Foundation, via the Undertaker or at the Service.

There will be refreshments after at the Social Hall which is attached to the Church.   All are welcome.  The family will be returning there after the Burial.

A condolence card has been sent to Hilary and the family on behalf of the  Nottinghamshire Branch of NARPO

  1. Just noticed this whilst checking on my old mates from Hendon. 77 – 79, (not many of them left now.) I remember John with great affection. His room was opposite mine. We both had the same number of children. Many happy memories from those days. Although very very late, my thoughts and best wishes are with you now Hilary and your family.
