Death of a Retired Officer

William David Jayes

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the death of William David Jayes, 77 years of age, a retired Police Officer.

He died on Monday 16 July 2018 at home.

The funeral is at 11.30am Tuesday 7 Agust 2018 at Mansfield Crematorium.   The Undertaker is George Hanson, 13 Watnall Road, Hucknall, Nottingham NG15 7LD.

Donations to the British Heart Foundation via the Undertaker or at the Service.

Bill joined the Combined Force in 1970 and served Hucknall, Arnold, Bestwood, Hamilton House and attachments to the S.O.U. and the Vice Squad.     He retired in 1995 through ill health.

There will be refreshments after at the British Legion Club on Beardall Street, Hucknall. NG15 7RA.   All are welcome.

  1. RIP Bill, I could not have wished to begin my service with a better tutor than you were. I learned so much in such a short space of time, for which I can never thank you, but rest assured, I did you proud. God Bless mate, will see you again someday. (I cannot get to your funeral as I have medical issues of my own and will be at hospital, but my heart will be there.) Gary Dixon

  2. I had the pleasure of working with Bill (PC 754 ) in the 80s at Bestwood Park and remember him being a very conscientous officer who showed common sense in his duties. He was ex -military and was really one of the old school . RIP Bill
