Funeral arrangements for Roy Bradshaw
The funeral for Roy is at 4.30pm on Friday 16 February 2018 at the Bramcote Crematorium. Family flowers only.
Prior to joining the Police Roy enlisted in the Royal Navy at the age of 16 years having told the Officers he was 18. In 1944 he was involved in Operation Overlord delivering tank landing craft to the Omaha Beach which was two days after his 18thbirthday. In 2016 he received the Legion d’Honour from the French Government and was the youngest surviving person to receive it.
After the war in 1947 he joined the Army and then in 1949 he joined the County Police. He served at Kimberley, Sutton in Ashfield, Barnby Moor, The Meadows and Beeston before retiring in 1974.
